A well-established and highly respected trial law firm in Kansas City is seeking a skilled and dedicated Paralegal to join its legal team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong interest in litigation and a passion for providing high-quality legal support in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

The Paralegal will play a key role in supporting attorneys throughout all phases of case preparation, from research and discovery through trial.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research using online databases, statutes, and case law to support case strategy and preparation
• Assist with case management, including organizing files, tracking deadlines, and maintaining calendars
• Communicate with clients professionally to gather information, provide updates, and respond to inquiries
• Support the discovery process by reviewing, summarizing, and managing documents; drafting discovery requests and responses
• Prepare and file legal documents in state and federal courts in compliance with applicable rules and procedures
• Assist with trial and hearing preparation, including organizing exhibits, coordinating witness materials, and preparing trial notebooks
• Provide general administrative and clerical support, including scheduling, correspondence, and file maintenance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate preferred
• 3-5 years of prior paralegal experience in a law firm or legal department required
• Proficiency with legal research tools such as Westlaw and/or LexisNexis
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment

Compensation: $50,000-$60,000 annually, depending on experience
